Welcome to

Braintrim Baptist Church

Prayer Bulletin – September 1, 2010

“Faith is a plant that grows best in winter”

Praises:

Crystal Salsman arrived in Chile safe and sound

Barb Culver was out to church last Sunday morning

John Ross is home and recovering nicely from his surgery

Thanking God for the safety that He gives and that we take for granted

Support and Health Needs:

The different ministries present at the Wyoming County Fair, such as local churches and the Gideon Assoc.

King’s Daughters ministry as it continues to reach out to the ladies of our church as well as the community

For many couples in our area who do not know Christ and are struggling with weak marriages, financial losses, rebellious children and possible unemployment that they would see that the risen Christ is the answer to their problems

School has started  – pray for our elementary students and high school kids

After summer break, our programs are beginning to “rev-up”, such as Awana, Youth Ministry, Teen Bible Study and Sr. Choir  - pray for the children of our community to be reached for Christ and for our youth leaders

Upcoming election in November as this is a very pivotal time in our Country

Each of us would be sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leading in reaching out to those around us who maybe nice people but are still spiritually lost and need Christ

Pray for President Barack Obama’s salvation and that he would be open to better leadership

For the troops in Afghanistan and Iraq who are putting their lives on the line for freedom against the onslaught of terrorism.  Pray for protection of our troops as well as other countries that are standing against these terrorists

For our country and its financial difficulties which is a direct problem to our spiritual shallowness and the things of God.  We as a nation must return to Christ if we are to be blessed of the Lord.  It is that simple.

NOTES of Interest:

For the ROCC Ministry (Reaching our Community for Christ) at the Northeast Bradford School as it continues to grow in support in reaching out to youth and adults in that area

“Karl and Deborah Haefka request the honor of your presence at the marriage of their daughter Dezra Rose to Jay Richard Brigham on Saturday, September 25 at two o’clock in the afternoon at Hope Baptist Church, Hiduk and Cross Rds., Wyalusing PA.”    The reception will follow and there are sign-up sheets posted on the bulletin boards to sign if you are planning to attend the reception.

The continued and growing anger of a proposed mosque being built at Ground Zero and the insensitivity of the Muslim community in seeking to build with little regard to the over 3,000 people who lost their lives at Ground Zero. This does not build good relations between the Muslim community and American people at this time.  Also there is a Muslim place of worship in that area as well as many mosque’s that are being built throughout our country.  Someone has likened it if the Japanese had built a shrine to honor the Japanese at Pearl Harbor immediately after the war.

Missionary Information

Tim and Jackie Faulkner and family as they prepare to return to Italy in October and the difficulties they face in reaching the Italians for Christ

Bud and Charlotte Kroeker ask prayer for a Max DeVolder, he is a confessing atheist that Bud has been reaching out to as a friend in hopes of presenting the Word of God

Continue to pray for the Jewish outreaches such as Jews for Jesus and Friends of Israel.  Jews for Jesus reports that they have groups in New York City, Philadelphia, Boston and Washington DC for summer missionary work in trying to reach out to the Jewish population.

Joyce Herr, missionary of SEND Int. who is in the last stages of cancer.

SEND Int. has five missionaries that need funding to return to the field

Dr. Bob Bowers and Marion as they serve Christ in Bangladesh.  The Country of Bangladesh is 80% Muslim and 20% Hindu and precious few Christian.  Pray for their safety and health.  Dr. Bob will be surgeon at the LAMB Hospital.

When you use tracts you will:

1.       Encourage people to fall into the arms of a loving God.

2.       Invite people in your neighborhood to visit your church to learn of the saving work of Jesus Christ.

3.       Nudge people to repent and accept the atoning sacrifice of Christ.

4.       Persuade your members to become more active in the life of your church.

5.       Strengthen your own faith as you partner with Christ in the greatest endeavor in the world.

Where we support the Pastor and leadership  -  I Thessalonians 5: 12-13

Where we can help support God’s work in the world  -  Proverbs 3:9

Please take note in the back of the church of a chart listing our 16 missionaries that we support prayerfully and financially.  We are asking those in this Fellowship to sign up to pray for one of these missionaries.  It is our desire to be more familiar with our missionaries and more sensitive to their needs.  Would you please sign up to pray, and we will also be handing out pamphlets regarding each missionary and their work.  Thank you,

The Missions Committee of Braintrim Baptist Church

“Jesus answered and said,

“You do err not knowing the Scriptures nor

the power of God.”

This is our theme verse for 2010.

This verse can be used as a witnessing tool and

used to correct people who are off center

regarding Christ and His Word.
